EUROPEAN COMPUTER DRIVING LICENCE (ECDL) COURSE *The course is accredited by BCS (British Computer Society). *TLSI is now the approved centre for BCS qualifications. ECDL is the internationally recognized qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computer skills. It can help you develop your IT skills, be more efficient in your existing job and impress your employer, or even give the ability to get a new job. No prior knowledge of IT or computer skills is needed to study ECDL.
Modules ECDL course at TLSI includes 8 individual modules. 7 modules are compulsory and each of them must be passed before an ECDL certificate is awarded. The 8th module (Unit E) can be taken as an additional one. Once a candidate is registered at TLSI, a logbook is issued to record exam results. When all 7 modules have been successfully passed, a certificate will be produced by BCS. | THE SEVEN MODULES THAT MAKES UP THE ECDL ARE: | | 1. Basic concepts of IT | | 2. Tests Each module is tested separately and each test generally lasts 45 minutes. The seven tests can be attempted in any order and at any time. The pass rate for modules 1 to 7 is 75%, whereas the pass rate for module 8 - Unit E is 80%. You have 3 years to complete the ECDL from the date of the first successfully completed test. All modules are assessed using automated tests (on-line). Learning Learning is based on textbooks, e-learning and blended learning. A teacher will provide students with theoretical information on various aspects of IT which then will be practised using our computers. All students will be provided with professional guidance. Courses It will take 45 days for each individual module to be completed. It will include: 5 weeks of study followed by exam preparation, final exam and exam results. It will take 52 weeks to complete all 8 modules. Candidates’ competence in English should be of FCE / Advanced level. Students with a lower level of English than required will be given the option of combining their ECDL course with General English or IELTS course. The combined courses can take up to 78 weeks.
